Sportsnaut’s NFL picks each week will predict the winner of games rather than choosing between point spreads and over/under. We’ll also provide a tracker each week to capture how our NFL experts are doing this year, providing fans with an idea of who is making the most accurate picks and whose predictions to fade.

NFL Survivor picks Week 1
Here is our preliminary NFL survivor picks for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season.
Green Bay Packers over Philadelphia Eagles
The Week 1 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles is being played in Brazil, which makes it like a defacto home game for the Packers. Not only will Green Bay have the crowd on its size, but the Eagles are a team in transition with a new defensive play-caller (Vic Fangio) and an offensive coordinator Kellen Moore). It takes time to learn new schemes, especially when they are very different than what the previous regime ran. Plus, the absence of Jason Kelce looms large in this season opener.

Seattle Seahawks over Denver Broncos
The Seattle Seahawks will likely struggle against teams with a great pass rush early this season, but the Denver Broncos don’t have anything close to that. Making matters worse for Denver, rookie quarterback Bo Nix will likely be making his first NFL start in front of the 12th Man at Lumen Field, a recipe for a rough debut. There aren’t going to be a ton of games this season where the Seahawks are favored, making them one of the ideal NFL survivor picks for Week 1.
