THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT jj maybank that made dominic johnson feel like himself. he felt like he didn't have to act like someone else around him and he enjoyed that greatly. dom laid there in the bed, eyes focused on the boy's sleeping figure next to him. he looked so peaceful and it made dom happy. the blond's eyes fluttered open and a groan fell from his lips as he covered his face.
"why are you watching me sleep?"
"you're beautiful." dom mumbled, reaching out to brush jj's hair away from his covered eyes.
"no, i'm not." jj scoffed, revealing his face so he could show that he was rolling his eyes. "i've got so many flaws."
dom reached out to run his thumb gently over his bruised cheek. he wasn't sure how he had gotten it, but he never asked. he didn't want to overstep boundaries with the boy. he knew he would tell him if he wanted to and when he was ready. "i'm a fan of them all." the crooked smile on his lips made jj's cheeks start to turn pink. "you're perfect to me."
"stop it." jj blushed, looking away from him.
dom felt his heart beat hard in his chest as he shifted closer to the boy, hand still on his cheek. "can i kiss you?"
jj glanced back at the boy. "what about rafe?"
the brunet furrowed his eyebrows. "what about rafe?"
"i don't know..." jj mumbled.
"i'm laying here with you, jj, and i want to kiss you; not him." dom stated. he'd never been more confident in his life. he wanted to kiss jj again. the boy was intoxicating.
"then yeah." jj nodded rather quickly. "you can kiss me."
dom licked his dry lips before leaning in, pressing his lips to jj's. jj's hands went to dom's waist and he pulled him closer, tilting his head to deepen the kiss. dom's fingers laced into jj's hair and jj was soon hovering over the boy, tongues battling for dominance. when they pulled apart jj immediately attached his lips to dom's neck and the older boy let out a small, quiet moan causing jj to smirk against his skin.
"f*ck, jj." dom squeaked out. "i want—i need you."
jj trailed kisses up his neck and across his jaw until he pressed one final kiss to his lips before pulling away. he looked down at the brunet and smiled, "not yet."
"why not?" dom whined. he was getting hard and needed some kind of release.
"when the time's right." jj pressed a kiss to his forehead before climbing off of him. dom was surprised at the response, but shifted his pants so he could hide his situation. "i'm gonna go shower and brush my teeth." he gave dom one last smile before leaving the room.
dom looked at his phone, seeing that it was almost dead. he scrolled through his new messages, unsure of how to react when seeing a text from rafe asking if he wanted to attend a party with the group that night. dom really wasn't in the mood to drink at that moment, but it was only nine in the morning. he had no idea if he'd want a drink that night. he simply texted back saying that he would let him know before climbing out of the bed to put his shoes on.
he made his way into the kitchen and a yawn slipped from his lips as he spotted sarah in the kitchen leaning against the counter with a mug in her hand. "morning." she smiled before sipping her drink.
"morning." dominic mumbled back before opening the fridge to see if there were any water bottles in there. thankfully, there was and he snatched one, chugging nearly half the bottle before he put the cap back on and leaned against the fridge with a sigh. "when do you plan on leaving? i kinda want to brush my teeth and get out of these clothes."
she finished off her drink before placing the mug in the sink. "now. let me just say goodbye to john b."
dom nodded, watching the girl head in the direction of john b's room. he made his way towards the door, deciding on waiting outside for the girl when jj stepped out of the bathroom, towel around his waist and wet hair sticking to his forehead.
dominic eyes the boy was head to toe and back up again before swallowing the lump in his throat. he nodded his head, "yeah, just waiting for sarah."
"oh, okay." jj licked his lips.
"sorry," he apologized for basically no reason. "i've got a lot of stuff to do at home."
"you're fine. i understand." jj nodded. he had some cuts and bruises displayed on his torso and dominic tried his hardest not to stare. he didn't want to make the younger boy self-conscious. he stepped forward, placing a hand on dominic's hip as he leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to dom's lips. dom's hand was at his cheek again, holding the boy to him so he couldn't pull away fast. it helped the older boy make up his mind about the party that night.
"you should come over later." dom mumbled against jj's lips.
"really?" jj pulled away slightly so he could look at the boy.
dom nodded, "only if you want to."
jj smiled, kissing him again. "i do."
"cool." dom said. "you'll have to go through the window again. my parents don't know...about rafe and i breaking up."
"oh." jj cleared his throat. "okay. i guess just text me what time."
"i will." dom smiled. "i'll see you later, jj."
"bye, dom."
the older boy made his way outside and headed over to sarah's car, waiting patiently for the girl. it was about another five minutes before she came out and the two headed in the direction of dom's house.
"did you two like...f*ck last night?" sarah randomly asked as they drove. "you guys kind of just got up and went inside."
"no." dominic rolled his eyes. "we did kiss this morning though."
"really?" she asked excitedly. "so you do have a crush on him." she confirmed.
dom shrugged his shoulders, looking out the window. "i don't know; maybe."
"i love it." sarah squealed. "you guys would be hella cute together—no offense to rafe." a small silence fell before sarah spoke again. "are you completely over rafe now?"
"no." dom answered truthfully. "but jj's has treated me better than rafe ever has. rafe—he didn't even really show that he cared about me until after i broke up with him."
"rafe's pretty weird like that." sarah hummed. "listen, i love my brother and want nothing but the best for him, but i also want what's best for you too, dom." she glanced over at the boy before looking back at the road. "and i think jj might be the best thing for you."
"we'll see." dom responded as they pulled up to his house. "we'll see."
